All four of the new country pavilions at CommunicAsia 2011 come from the region–Thailand’s Telecommunications Research and Industrial Development Institute, Association of Thai Software Industry (ATSI), Goyang Industry Promotion Agency from Korea, and Sri Lanka Export Development Board.

China remains the show’s biggest supporter, with over 50 exhibiting companies from the country. The Zhongguancun pavilion, in particular, occupies a floor area 150 percent bigger than last year.

The Brunei pavilion houses nine participating companies, including telco TelBru and tracking technology vendor, BruGPS. Also at the show is Infindo, which is showcasing its flagship product, Polygon App Store. The company terms this as a white-label cloud appstore that supports multiple platforms.

Infindo has also partnered software vendor, Expansys, to develop a mobile social app that taps location-based technology to provide a 360 degree-view of what is happening around them. For instance, a person seeking information about a restaurant can see what people have tweeted about the menu as well as whether their friends are there at the same time, a representative explained.

B-Mobile and Infindo Technology Offers Competitive Edge in Mobile Apps.

B-Mobile has co-launched the ‘Widget Warehouse’ with Infindo Technology with the aim of offering a competitive edge to mobile phone users. This big move has been highly motivated by the increased popularity in apps usage in almost every context, which has also led to profound changes in the way consumers communicate and live. In fact, the App phenomenon has become so huge that consumers’ daily behaviours are greatly influenced by it in a way or another.

B-Mobile, being one of Brunei’s biggest telecommunication companies and an innovator in technology offers an extensive portfolio of services to its users and with the launch of the ‘Widget Warehouse’, has added yet another ‘Feather to Its Cap’. B-Mobile’s Strategic Partner and App Store Provider – Infindo Technology is currently the market leader in the region for mobile application development and has since been actively engaged in delivering innovative applications for various mobile platforms with full focus on the latest emergence in mobile technologies. Together, with the consolidation of expertise and technological know-how, the ‘Widget Warehouse’ is bound to shake things up and gain strong ground in the App Store market.

With just a minimal monthly service subscription fee of $1.99, subscribers are able to download a total of 30 Apps and browse from a range of 10,000 Apps, everything from news and games to popular applications such as social network favourites, Facebook and Twitter.

B-Mobile subscribers have the option of selecting the applications either through the online store or directly through the ‘Widget Warehouse’ mobile client.Since the launching several weeks ago, B-Mobile has seen a significant growth in their subscriber base, which is 92.1% of their total number of registered users. The impeccable increased in subscribers are growing at an average of 15% on weekly basis since its launch, which is a great achievement for B-Mobile. By the 2nd quarter of 2011, subscribers to the ‘Widget Warehouse’ are expected to derive at 10,000 users. The ‘Widget Warehouse’, being the exciting virtual shopping mall has stimulated thousands of mobile application downloads since its launch, with the games and social messaging categories being the most popular application downloads. B-Mobile’s VP of Marketing was even quoted saying

“It is great to finally have an interesting selection of Apps for multiple mobile types, which our users will find satisfactory value and ease of download. It is a great App Store indeed!”

There were significant implications on the application downloads statistics captured and the compiled findings on various Operating Systems indicated that most downloads were from the Android Operating System. Amongst the most popular Android phones and models used are ‘HTC: Desire Model’, ‘Google: Nexus One Model’ and ‘Samsung: i9000 Galaxy Model’. Android is also one of the most promising mobile platforms available in the market with more than 100 new Android smartphones releases to be expected in the coming year.

The notion that more and more people are turning to the App Store for almost anything is hardly surprising and should be taken with a dose of healthy optimism. Apps have become so much more than just fun things. It has become apparent and clear that Apps are set to play an even greater part of every consumer’s lives and the next wave of Apps will marry the real and virtual world even more.

Infindo Technology will continuously innovate and create more impactful Apps to meet the customised needs and demands of consumers and potentially contribute to the ways of how consumers communicate with the world.
